LIÇÕES DA SOLIDÃO

Resumo

Um dos mais decisivos legados da Modernidade foi a instituição de um tipo antropológico original e, a partir daí, dominante: o sujeito isolado. Ora, não são poucos os que creditam a Rousseau um lugar de destaque nessa invenção — o que parece, à primeira vista, plenamente confirmado pela reiterada ocorrência da palavra «só» e da temática da solidão no conjunto da obra do autor. «Poder-se-ia, com efeito», considera Bronislaw Baczko, «definir toda a biografia de Jean-Jacques como a história de um crescente isolamento, como a história de uma solidão.» Mas deveria, assim, o exame filosófico, sobretudo no que se refere a nosso polêmico autor, dobrar-se inteiramente à dominância do argumento biográfico? Not a few readers attributed to Rousseau a prominent place in this invention – which seems, at first glance, fully confirmed by the repeated occurrence of the word "alone (seul)" and the theme of loneliness in the overall work of the author. «One could define, in effect, the whole biography of Jean-Jacques as the story of a growing isolation, as the story of solitude", says Bronislaw Baczko. But should the philosophical analysis, especially with regard to our controversial author, bend entirely to biographical dominance argument?
