UTILIZAÇÃO DE INSETICIDAS BOTÂNICOS NA AGRICULTURA ORGÂNICA DE ARROIO DO MEIO/RS

Abstract

A busca por métodos alternativos que visam a um controle eficiente em relação a insetos pragas que acometem diversas lavouras vem se tornando cada vez maior, não só no Rio Grande do Sul - BR, mas mundialmente. O presente trabalho apresenta os diferentes tipos de plantas inseticidas utilizados por agricultores orgânicos do município de Arroio do Meio, pertencente ao Vale do Taquari/RS/BR. Para a realização do mesmo, entrevistas com questionários padronizados, foram realizadas no período de setembro e outubro do ano de 2009 com todos os produtores de agricultura orgânica pertencentes à área de estudo e também a funcionários da EMATER municipal. Nestas entrevistas diversas espécies vegetais foram apontadas como inseticidas naturais, sendo a maior parte delas pertencente à família Asteracea. Todos os agricultores entrevistados utilizam extratos de plantas, sendo que 82% fazem o cultivo destas em sua propriedade. Todos relataram obter resultados satisfatórios no manejo de diferentes insetos considerados pragas das lavouras com a utilização dos extratos vegetais em suas propriedades. Palavras-chave: Insetos praga, Extratos vegetais, Produção orgânica, Controle alternativo, Agricultura familiar.   ABSTRACT         The incessant search for alternative methods aimed at an efficient control for insect pests that attack various crops, is becoming increasingly not only locally but globally. This paper presents the different types of plants used insecticide in organic agriculture in the Arroio do Meio/RS. To achieve the same, standardized questionnaires were conducted during September and October of 2009 with all producers of organic agriculture belonging to the study area and also EMATER. In these questionnaires many plant species have been identified as natural insecticides, and most of them belonging to the Asteraceae. All farmers interviewed use plant extracts, and 82% of these are growing on their property. All reported satisfactory results in the management of various insect pests of crops with the use of plant extracts in their properties.   Key words:  Pest insects, plant extracts, organic production, alternative control, family farming.
