A DINÂMICA DE METAIS-TRAÇO NO SOLO

Abstract

O termo “metais-traço” tem sido utilizado para definir elementos químicos que em baixas concentrações no ambiente podem vir a constituir uma fonte potencial para a poluição ambiental. Os metais-traço podem ser encontrados no solo das seguintes formas: na solução do solo; adsorvidos eletrostaticamente aos sítios de troca; incorporados à superfície da fase inorgânica, como óxidos de Al, Fe e de Mn; participando de reações de precipitação e dissolução; e ligados a compostos orgânicos. Dentro deste contexto, conclui-se que a dinâmica de metais-traço no solo é influenciada diretamente pelo uso e ocupação do solo, pelo manejo do solo adotado em sistemas agrícolas e por fatores inerentes ao elemento químico, ao meio ambiente e às interações entre os elementos e solo.   Palavras-chave: Elementos-traço, contaminação ambiental, toxicidade.   ABSTRACT   The term “trace metal” has been used to define chemical elements which in low concentrations on the environment may construct a potential source for the environmental pollution. The trace metal can be found in the soil on the following forms: on soil solution; electrostatistically adsorbed to the change sites; incorporated to the surface of the inorganic phase, as Al oxides, Fe and Mn; participating on precipitation and dissolution reactions; and connected to organic compounds. In this context, it is concluded that the dynamic of soil trace metal is directly influenced by the use and occupation of the soil, by the soil managements adopted in agricultural systems and by inherent factors to the chemical element, to the environment and to the interactions among the elements and the soil.   Key words: Trace elements, environmental contamination, toxicity.
