Penn Kemp no Brasil: algumas considerações sobre a tradução de sua "Poesia Sonora".

Resumo

 Neste trabalho eu apresento a tradução de alguns poemas de Penn Kemp para o português e discuto a tarefa do tradutor quando se refere a poemas que trabalham com som, conteúdo e imagem. Eu argumento que a tarefa do tradutor é manter o som e a imagem em harmonia com o conteúdo. Além disso, deve-se pensar no leitor e na “legibilidade” da tradução. Apoiado por estudiosos da tradução e de poetas simbolistas, sugiro que é importante pensar sobre o poema como um todo, com seu som, sua imagem e seu conteúdo.Abstract: In this article I present the translation of some of Penn Kemp’s sound poems and discuss the task of the translator when referring to this kind of poetry. I argue that the translator’s task is to keep sound, image in harmony with meaning. Besides, one has to think of the audience and the readability of the translation. Supported by scholars of translation and symbolist poets I propose that it is important to think of the whole poem thinking of the text, the sound and the image.
