A INTELECÇÃO INTUITIVA EM JOÃO DUNS ESCOTO

Resumo

A distinção entre intuição e abstração é um dos elementos mais característicos da filosofia de João Duns Escoto (c. 1265-1308). Por essa distinção, ele defende a possibilidade para o intelecto humano de conhecer singulares. No que se segue, estudo diversos textos em que há uma caracterização da intelecção intuitiva, de maneira a apontar os temas implicados na noção de intuição de Duns Escoto. Ao fazê-lo, veremos a distância que separa, por um lado, os singulares reais dos singulares tal como são por nós conhecidos e, por outro, o conhecimento dos singulares que a abstração nos proporciona daquele possível pela intuição.Palavras-chave: Conhecimento; intelecção; intuição; abstração; João Duns Escoto. Abstract: The distinction between intuition and abstraction is one of the most characteristic features in John Duns Scotus’s (c. 1265-1308) philosophy. With this distinction, he holds the possibility for the human intellect to know singulars. In what follows, I consider various texts in which one finds a characterization of intuitive intellection, so that we may establish what themes are implicated in Duns Scotus’s notion of intuition. In so doing, we will notice the gap that stands between, on one hand, the real singulars and the singulars as known by us and, on the other, the knowledge of singulars afforded by abstraction and the one provided by intuition.Keywords: Knowledge; intellection; intuition; abstraction; John Duns Scotus.  PAIVA, Gustavo B.
