DILEMAS MORAIS NA TEORIA DE ERIC STEINHART

Resumo

Quando tratamos de questões que envolvem ética nos deparamos com problemas que, aparentemente não têm soluções cabíveis. Os conflitos entre obrigações surgem neste contexto, tendo como caso especial os dilemas morais. Eric Steinhart, em sua obra More Precisely: the math you need to do philosophy (2009), remete à teoria utilitarista de ato como base para desenvolver um formalismo matemático, que, ao final, pode representar um esclarecimento para questões que envolvam dilemas morais. Logo, este artigo tem o objetivo de demostrar como a teoria de Steinhart poderá lançar luz às questões dos dilemas morais.Palavras-chave: Utilitarismo de mundo; Utilitarismo de ato; Ética; Dilemas morais; Lógica. Abstract: When we deal with questions that involve ethics we face problems which apparently have no sensible solutions. Conflicts between moral obligations – especially moral dilemmas – arise within these contexts. Eric Steinhart, in his book More Precisely: the math you need to do philosophy (2009), refers to the act utilitarian theory as a basis to develop a mathematical formalism, refers to the act utilitarian theory as a basis to develop a mathematical formalism, which in the end may represent a clarification for issues that involve moral dilemmas.
