IDEOLOGIA, TERROR E A SEGUNDA GUERRA MUNDIAL: CONTRIBUIÇÕES DE HANNAH ARENDT PARA A COMPREENSÃO DO PROCESSO HISTÓRICO

Resumo

O presente artigo aborda a relação entre a análise do totalitarismo e o conhecimento histórico sobre a Segunda Guerra Mundial, encetados por Hannah Arendt. Tem-se o objetivo de discutir possíveis contribuições do pensamento de Arendt para a compreensão da história. Para tanto, tomou-se como fonte precípua de estudo o capítulo “Ideologia e terror: uma nova forma de governo”, da obra “Origens do totalitarismo: Antissemitismo, imperialismo, totalitarismo”. Primeiramente, são explanados os conceitos de ideologia e terror e sua pertinência para o estudo da Segunda Guerra Mundial. Na sequência, discorre-se sobre a ideia de “compreensão” da história e sua validade em termos teórico-metodológicos. Conclui-se que o pensamento de Arendt constitui um marco para se entender a história do totalitarismo e da Segunda Guerra Mundial, bem como do mundo contemporâneo. Palavras-chave: Hannah Arendt; Ideologia; Terror; Segunda Guerra Mundial. Abstract: This article mains to analysis the relationship between totalitarianism and historical knowledge about the Second World War, by Hannah Arendt. It has the purpose of discussing possible contributions of Arendt thought to understand the history. Therefore, it was taken as main source, the chapter "Ideology and Terror: a new government shape," for the book "The totalitarianism Origins: Anti-Semitism, imperialism, totalitarianism." First of all, the concepts of ideology and terror and its effectiveness for the study of World War II are explained. Following, it talks about the idea of "understanding" of the history and its validity in theoretical and methodological terms. We conclude that the Arendt thought is a milestone for understanding the history of totalitarianism and the Second World War.
