Keywords: Third person clitics, Instruction with a focus on form, Spanish.

Abstract

In this study, we investigated the interaction between instructional interventionand the third-person clitics of Spanish, classified as simple and complex structures incomprehension and production skills. We used concepts related to Instruction with Focuson Form, such as: explicit instruction, instruction focused on isolated form, instructionfocused on the integrated form, among other definitions, by Canadian researcher NinaSpada. For data processing purposes, we used the International Business MachineStatistical Package for Social Studies (SPSS) software, from which we used relativefrequency, χ2 test and repeated measures ANOVA test. This study included 10 participants, students of a Portuguese and Spanish Teaching Course from a public university. Theresults showed that, depending on the type of analysis (intra or interclitic), the simple andcomplex forms presented different behavior in reception and production skills.
