Resumo

Resumo: Neste artigo, argumento que a neuroética possui uma base cientificista equivocada dificultando a compreensão da ética necessária para a neurociência e suas aplicações tecnológicas. Por isso, defendo que a neuroética deve ser transformada em neurobioética para tratar problemas morais a partir de princípios tais como o respeito pela pessoa, justiça social etc. Para ilustrar, discuto alguns temas específicos daquilo que chamo ‘neurobioética.’ Abstract: In this paper I argue that neuroethics has a problem in its scientificist assumptions making difficult to understand the ethics needed for the neurosciences e their technological applications. I maintain that neuroethics must be transformed into neurobioethics in order to better discuss moral problems in this domain using principles such as respect for persons, social justice etc. To illustrate, I examine some specific issues in the domain of ‘neurobioethics.’

Darlei Dall'Agnol, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina

Darlei Dall Agnol possui Graduação (1983-1986) e Especialização (1987) em Filosofia pela Universidade de Caxias do Sul (RS) onde também atuou como professor (1987-1993). Desde 1994, trabalha na Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Cursou Mestrado em Filosofia na UFRGS (1988-1992) e Doutorado em Filosofia na University of Bristol (PhD, 1996-2000), Inglaterra, com trabalhos na área da Ética. Fez estágio de pós-doutorado em metaética na University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, US, 2006-7, e em bioética no Centre for Practical Ethics da University of Oxford, UK (2015-6). Foi chefe dos Departamentos de Filosofia da UCS e da UFSC e Coordenador do Néfipo - Núcleo de Ética e Filosofia Política da UFSC. Atuou também na Coordenação do Pós-Graduação em Filosofia (Mestrado e Doutorado) da UFSC. Fundou e foi o primeiro editor das revistas Conjectura e Ethic@ e, hoje, coordena a Série Ethica pela EdUFSC. Publicou vários livros, artigos e capítulos de livros no Brasil e no exterior (vide abaixo), destacando-se, recentemente, o livro "Morality and Life" (publicado na Itália) e "La ética en Wittgenstein y el problema del relativismo" (València, Espanha). Desde 2004, é Pesquisador do CNPq. Atualmente, trabalha na finalização do livro "Care & Respect: Re-thinking the metaethical and normative basis of bioethics" com contrato para ser publicado pela Cambridge Scholars, na Inglaterra.
