O PRÉDIO DO ARSENAL DE GUERRA DE PORTO ALEGRE E A GUERRA DA TRÍPLICE ALIANÇA E O PARAGUAI: (NOVAS) NARRATIVAS HISTÓRICAS E RESSIGNIFICAÇÃO DO PATRIMÔNIO EDIFICADO

The war arsenal building in Porto Alegre and the  Triple Alliance War and Paraguay: (NEW) Historical  Narratives and resignification of built assetsResumo: O artigo tem o objetivo de, em seu escopo mais amplo, identificar aspectos da historicidade da edificação que foi sede do Arsenal de Guerra de Porto Alegre (atuais instalações do Museu Militar do Comando Militar do Sul), colocando em perspectiva suas principais funcionalidades ao longo dos seus mais de 150 anos de existência, com ênfase na participação direta dessa organização militar naquele que até hoje é considerado o maior conflito já realizada em solo sul-americano: a guerra entre a Tríplice Aliança e o Paraguai. A análise foi conduzida pelo arcabouço teórico instrumentalizado pelos estudos e pesquisas oriundos da denominada “Nova História Militar” a fim de compreender o processo de patrimonialização dos bens culturais militares, no caso específico o prédio atual do Museu Militar, e a sua interface com a análise das narrativas históricas de uma das instituições militares das quais foi suporte (Arsenal de Guerra). O resultado de pesquisa apresentado poderá influenciar diretamente no desenvolvimento da história e na recomposição de novas narrativas ligadas a essa estrutura, estabelecendo novos significados e novas possibilidades com que esse local poderá ser narrado e lembrado no futuro.Palavras-chave: Arsenal de Guerra; Guerra Tríplice Aliança, Narrativas históricas; Patrimonialização Abstract: The article aims, in its broader scope, to identify aspects of the historicity of the building that was the headquarters of the Arsenal de Guerra de Porto Alegre (current installations of the Military Museum of the Southern Military Command), putting its main features into perspective throughout of its more than 150 years of existence, with emphasis on the direct participation of this military organization in what is still considered the biggest conflict ever carried out on South American soil: the war between the Triple Alliance and Paraguay. The analysis was conducted by the theoretical framework instrumentalized by studies and research from the so-called "New Military History" in order to understand the process of patrimonialization of military cultural assets, in the specific case the current Military Museum building, and its interface with the analysis of historical narratives of one of the military institutions he supported (Arsenal de Guerra). The research result presented may directly influence the development of the story and the recomposition of new (and legitimate) narratives linked to this structure, establishing new meanings and new possibilities with which this place can be narrated and remembered in the future.Keywords: Arsenal de Guerra; Triple Alliance War;  Historical Narratives; PatrimonializationArtigo recebido em 23 de julho de 2021 e aprovado em 01 de novembro de 2021.
