A Arte Africana e sua relevância para a conscientização multicultural

Resumo

O presente artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa que buscou, a partir de uma metodologia quantitativa e qualitativa, levantar dados para verificar a validade do ensino de Arte Africana nas escolas. Este ensino foi avaliado enquanto ferramenta propícia para auxiliar os estudantes a desenvolver uma consciência multicultural e crítica, em resposta às diversas questões advindas da diversidade étnica presente em nossa sociedade. Para tanto, foram aplicados material didático sobre Arte Africana e questionários em quatro encontros realizados com uma turma de 6ª série do ensino fundamental, da Escola Nossa Senhora Medianeira – Pelotas – RS. As respostas às perguntas dos questionários e algumas justificativas escritas para tal são a base deste estudo, que alia ensino de Arte Africana e abordagem teórica em busca de uma justificativa científica para tal ensino.Palavras-Chave: Multiculturalismo – conscientização – Arte Africana The African Art and its relevance for the multicultural awarenessAbstractThe present article presents the results of a research for what it looked, from a quantitative and qualitative methodology, to collect data to check the validity of the teaching of African Art in the schools. This teaching was valued while favorable tool to help the students to develop a multicultural and critical conscience, in reply to several questions resulted from the ethnical diversity present in our society. For the research educational material on African Art and questionnaires in four meetings carried out with a group of 6th series of the basic teaching, of the Nossa Senhora Medianeira School – Pelotas – Rio Grande do Sul were applied. The answers to the questions of the questionnaires and some written justifications were to base of this study, what it allies the teaching of African Art and theoretical approach in search of a scientific justification for this practice. Key-words: Multiculturalism – Awareness – African Art
