Potrero de la Boca (11150-7500 cal. ap) tendencias, cambios e innovaciones en la producción de artefactos líticos en el litoral del Oceáno Pacífico de Chile Central
Abstract
The results of the lithic analysis of Potrero de la Boca show the presence of a lithic industry based
on the production of flakes that operated on the coast of Cahuil between 11150 cal. BP and 7500 cal. BP. The implementation of two lithic production strategies is identified: the first, characterized by flakes without cortex on quartz [L], and the second, represented by flakes with cortex on basalt [L(co)]. The higher representation of flakes with cortex on basalt [L(co)] and the higher variability of bifacial innovations, coincides with the highest taxonomic variety recorded in fish and caviomorph rodents, as well as with the highest consumption of terrestrial and marine mammals, fish, mithilids and gastropods. On the contrary, the higher representation of flakes without cortex on quartz [L], would be especially linked to the decrease in the consumption of terrestrial mammals and bivalves.
