GÊNERO, TRABALHO, GUERRA E PAZ NO REINO UNIDO: O IMPACTO DA SEGUNDA GUERRA MUNDIAL E DO IMEDIATO PÓS-GUERRA NA VIDA DAS TRABALHADORAS BRITÂNICAS (1939-1951)

Resumo: O presente artigo busca, a partir de uma revisão bibliográfica, discutir algumas questões relacionadas a vida das mulheres trabalhadoras britânicas no contexto da Segunda Guerra Mundial e no imediato pós-guerra. O impacto da guerra trouxe alterações significativas no que tange à inserção dessas mulheres no mercado de trabalho, interferindo momentaneamente na relação entre os gêneros, trazendo à tona novos conflitos e expondo os limites dos avanços ocorridos no período. O debate sobre a igualdade salarial e as controvérsias em torno do trabalho doméstico se mostraram questões centrais no debate a respeito do trabalho feminino. Com a construção do Estado de bem-estar social a partir de 1945, as mesmas questões se manifestaram novamente, agora a partir da lógica específica do Estado social britânico, apresentando os mesmos limites estruturais. Em diferentes conjunturas, as hierarquias de gênero se mostram estruturantes do modo de produção capitalista.Palavras-chave: Mulheres trabalhadoras; Segunda Guerra Mundial; Pós-Guerra; Grã-Bretanha.Abstract: Based on a literature review, this article seeks to discuss some issues related to the lives of British working women in the context of the Second World War and the immediate post-war period. The impact of the war brought significant changes in terms of the insertion of these women in the labour market, momentarily interfering in the relationship between genders, bringing to the surface new conflicts and exposing the limits of the advances that occurred in the period. The debate on equal pay and the disputes surrounding domestic work have become central issues in the debate on women's work. With the construction of the welfare State after 1945, the same questions arose again, now based on the specific logic of the British Welfare State, but presenting the same structural limits.
