War and sex in Lost Girls, by Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie Resumo: Discute-se a relação entre erotismo, pornografia e a memória histórica da Primeira Guerra Mundial a partir de Lost Girls, de Alan Moore e Melinda Gebbie. Lost Girls é uma história em quadrinhos que conta o início da vida sexual de três importantes personagens femininas de ficção do fim do século XIX e início do século XX. O nosso ponto principal de discussão será observar como a obra estabelece uma crítica às guerras, ao colocar em evidência elementos e representações do período. A obra trabalha uma atmosfera histórica embebida da liberdade sexual das personagens femininas da literatura clássica em meio a um cenário pré-Primeira Guerra. Por meio da noção que Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht desenvolve e designa por stimmung (atmosfera ou clima histórico) buscamos compreender o processo que os autores constroem, ao transpor e reunir personagens como, por exemplo, Alice, Wendy e Dorothy no mesmo enredo. Considerando Gumbrecht, analisamos como Moore e Gebbie estabelecem um diálogo não apenas com a literatura, mas com o passado, percebendo a forma como presentificam na obra uma atmosfera histórica que culminou na eclosão da Primeira Guerra Mundial.Palavras-chave: Lost Girls; Erotismo; Pornografia; Atmosfera Histórica; Primeira Guerra Mundial. Abstract: This paper discusses the relationship between eroticism, pornography and the historical memory of World War I in Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie's Lost Girls. Lost Girls is a comic book that relates the early sexual lives of three important female characters in the late 19th and early 20th century novel. The focus of our discussion will be to observe how the book establishes a critique of the wars, by putting in evidence elements and representations of the period. The comic book works a historical atmosphere embedded with the sexual freedom of female characters from classical literature in the midst of a pre-First World War scenario. Through the notion that Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht develops and calls stimmung (historical atmosphere or climate) we seek to understand the process that the authors construct when they transpose and bring together characters such as Alice, Wendy and Dorothy in the same plot. Considering Gumbrecht, we analyze how Moore and Gebbie establish a dialogue not only with literature, but with the past, perceiving the way they present in the work a historical atmosphere that culminated in the outbreak of the First World War.Keywords: Lost Girls; Eroticism; Pornography; Historical Atmosphere; World War I.
