Afro Ibarreños: A case of territorial stigmatization in an Andean City
Abstract
The present research work analyzes and explores mainly from the theory of territorial stigmatization the process of stigmatization of the urban parish “Guayaquil de Alpachaca” and the direct and indirect effects on the life and existence of its inhabitants, describing a series of strategies to cope with it. To this end, a theoretical body is proposed that is nourished by urban-territorial studies, Afro-descendant studies, territorial stigmatization and socio-spatial segregation, due to the complexity of the phenomenon under study, its socio-historical and geographical context.
