Retextualization of a comic strip by literate students
Abstract
In this article, we present the results of a research carried out in a public junior high school in Goiás. The main focus of the paper is the retextualization that students made of a comic strip. To analyze the data, we searched for theoretical support in Marcuschi (2001). The main questions investigated are: how do the students retextualize a Chico Bento comics? When retextualizing the character’s speech, which treatment will they give to the linguistic variety used by him? Furthermore, we intended to verify which difficulties the students would have in the transformation of the text, as well as what they would do in order not to interfere in its coherence after the retextualization.
