Syncretic semiotics
brief analysis of the comic book biography of Machado de Assis produced by elementary school students
Abstract
Numerous texts that guide basic education have defended the work with different textual genres. Collected in national scale ratings are different visual semiotic systems and verb and appear as progressive proposals to help students develop skills and competencies for the reader practice. Thinking about the reason why our student does not feel affected by the act of reading and textual production offered by the school is that we develop with students of the 8th grade of elementary School (current 9th year), of a municipal public school of Pelotas, a work of translation of the biographical text in prose to the comic book (CB), in order to observe the effects of meaning generated from such elaboration. With object of study in hand – two of these “intersemiotics translations” – our objective in this paper is to make an analysis based on the theoretical-methodological assumptions of the discursive semiotics of A. J. Greimas and its collaborators (BARROS, 2011; FIORIN, 2013; FLOCH, 1985; OLIVEIRA, 2009; TEIXEIRA, 2010), because it is a methodology that takes care to analyze the meaning of the text and, also, because it is a theory that seeks to investigate different languages and know the way in which the meaning of the text is constructed.
