About Intervention in the Vale do Taquari/RS
Abstract
Abstract: This report describes a humanitarian intervention conducted in the Taquari Valley, Rio Grande do Sul, in response to the extreme climatic events of 2023. Grounded in rhythmic massage—a therapeutic practice within anthroposophic medicine based on the threefold nature of the human being—the initiative was integrated into Emergency Pedagogy activities. The study details the care provided to teachers and staff at schools in affected municipalities, utilizing rhythmic touch and therapeutic substances, such as vegetable oils, to stimulate vital functions and dissolve traumatic emotional stagnation. Conducted in adapted environments within educational institutions, the sessions aimed to rebalance vital forces disrupted by material losses and stress. Qualitative results indicated immediate relief, improved respiration, and emotional regulation among participants, transforming states of depression into a readiness to start anew. It is concluded that the intervention fostered a sense of support and hope, consolidating the practice's potential for mitigating trauma within the context of environmental disasters.
