A ATUALIDADE DO CONTRATO SOCIAL DE ROUSSEAU: CONTRIBUIÇÕES PARA A EDUCAÇÃO

Resumo

Em tempos que se esfacelam os fundamentos de perspectivas de novos pactos em favor de novos entendimentos, mediante a crise da metafísica e a suposta crise na educação, a leitura do Contrato Social de Rousseau é oportuna. Convivendo pouco com os homens, mas com a sensibilidade aguçada para entendê-los, Rousseau se constitui num marco referencial para estudos nos mais diferentes campos do saber. Esse texto tem a pretensão de apresentar alguns pontos de clivagem da obra, num primeiro momento, num segundo retomar um dos conceitos fundantes: o conceito de vontade geral. Aponta também para a riqueza desse princípio no estabelecimento de novos acordos no terreno da educação. Mas qual seria a possibilidade do homem abandonar sua vontade particular e agir de acordo com a vontade geral? Scarcely living with men, but with a keen sensitivity to understand them, Rousseau constitutes a reference point for further studies in different fields of knowledge. This text intends to present some points of cleavage of his work, at a first moment; next, it resumes one of his foundational concepts: that of general will. It also points to the richness of this principle in establishing new agreements in the field of education. But what would be the possibility of man abandoning his particular will and to act according to the general will?
