implementation and evaluation of an online teacher development course
Abstract
This paper investigates the contribution of an online teacher development course aimed at the integration of digital technologies in higher education. The ethnographic-based case study describes and evaluates the course from its participants’ perspective based on the analysis of data from questionnaire, research diary and participants’ interactions in online environments. The study identified how course methodology and design contributed to teachers’ digital literacy and professional development regarding the integration of digital technologies to their teaching practices at the university. In conclusion, it presents criteria and recommendations to be considered in the design and implementation of courses with similar aims.
