Teoria e método em Michel Foucault (im)possibilidades

Resumo

O artigo trata da pertinência de aplicar os conceitos de método e teoria no âmbito do pensamento de Michel Foucault. A partir de um fragmento wittgensteiniano, é feita uma rápida discussão epistemológica e metodológica de caráter não-representacionista, não-essencialista e nãofundacionista sobre método e teoria. Identificam-se duas tendências maiores sobre tais conceitos: a primeira é mais estrita ou hard; a segunda é mais ampla ou soft. A pertinência e a impertinência em usar ambos os conceitos em Foucault dependerá sempre da aderência a uma dessas duas tendências. É feita uma breve distinção entre teoria e teorização, de modo a mostrar a conveniência em usar teorização quando se trata dos Estudos Foucaultianos. Palavras-chave: Estudos Foucaultianos, Wittgenstein, Teorização, Método, TeoriaTheory and method in Michel Foucault (im)possibilitiesAbstractThe paper is about the relevance of using the concepts of method and theory over Michel Foucault’s thinking. A quick epistemological and methodological discussion is placed from a Wittgenstein piece and the character of this argument is to be non-representational, non-foundation and non- ssentialist. Two major tendencies are identified over such concepts: the first one is stricter or harder; the second one is broader or softer. The relevance or irrelevance of using both concepts in Foucault will always depend on the devotion to one of those tendencies. There is also a brief distinction between theory and theorization aiming to show the convenience of using theorization when working with Foucault oriented studies. Key-words: Foucault oriented studies, Wittgenstein, Theorization, Method, Theory.
